According to a common definition «e-learning is a special kind of computer-aided learning». To this end e-learning is characterised by its digitalised form, interactivity and high availability. Since the WWW is brim-full of e-learning content, the quality varies widely. The SchoolNetGuide provides a snapshot overview of good and bad e-learning content, describes the quality attributes that e-learning should fulfil, and provides information about how and when e-learning can be used in the classroom as an additional tool. The detailed example of the Wiedikon cantonal school in Zurich provides a concrete case study of e-learning applications.
The SchoolNetGuide 3 «E-Learning» is available in German and French and can be obtained from Swisscom free of charge while stocks last.
