Clear principles as basis for good working relations
Our personnel policy lays down our management principles and reflects our clear position on social issues. Anyone occupying a management position in our company is obligated to follow these principles. As an employee, you are clear about what you can expect.
Management
The standards we expect of our management employees are probably higher than most other companies. To us, leadership means: Taking responsibility and passing responsibility on. Defining shared goals and then achieving them. Fostering and supporting talent independently of personal preferences. Practising equality of opportunity. It's a difficult challenge, but it's also very satisfying when you succeed in motivating your employees in their work.
Staff development
As one of Switzerland's biggest employers, we are of course concerned about ensuring that there is qualified young talent. Career development across different sectors is a high priority for us. We offer university graduates a variety of possibilities to find a route to gain professional and management experience in accordance with their needs.
Social responsibility
For us, social responsibility is a far-reaching obligation, based on adequate insurance cover. As a company, we aim to integrate the disadvantaged wherever operational considerations permit. We stand by our staff through life's ups and downs. We try to avoid redundancies and implement any downsizing plans with care and sensitivity. We promote health awareness among our employees. And finally, we offer security and support through a wide range of social benefits such as counselling services, support for childcare outside the family and value-for-money catering facilities.
Salary
Our salary system guarantees fair remuneration, in line with the market. It takes into account both individual performance and the achievement of common goals. The main salary component is the basic salary, to which is added a performance-related salary component. This variable salary component is determined on the basis of the results of Swisscom, the division and/or the performance of the team.
Work structure
Work should be constructively integrated into the employee's personal lifestyle. Depending on the needs of the division and role, we are open to the idea of flexible working and offer working models such as part-time work or teleworking, according to requirements.
Information and communication
Information and communication foster motivation and create transparency. We hold to the principle of reciprocity for both management and employees. Actively gathering information and actively informing are part of our communication culture.
Participation
The company considers good relations between the social partners to be a prerequisite for successful interaction. We are keen to create a climate of trust and find win-win solutions for critical issues.
