Student Day 2012 with fascinating talks and a virtual paper chase through Zurich!
At this year's Student Day Swisscom welcomed over 50 students from universities across Switzerland (ZHAW, Uni Zurich, ETH, Uni Berne, Uni Fribourg, etc.). CEO Carsten Schloter spoke in detail about Swisscom's positioning in the TIME market while Roger Wüthrich-Hasenböhler, Head of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, provided an exciting insight into the world of communications.
Afterwards the students were able to find out more about career and development opportunities at Swisscom, in various groups which included two of the eight speakers. Employees who joined Swisscom directly after completing their studies or via the trainee programme talked about their experiences, their career and their current working area. They too were bombarded with questions, for example, about their experience as a direct entrant , about whether and how they benefited from the trainee programme, or how they came to be in their current position as a team leader. At the drinks reception that followed, interesting discussions took place in a relaxed atmosphere and new contacts were established.
A special highlight this year was the pre-event, in which the students took part in a virtual paper chase through Zurich.
Judging from the feedback , the students clearly enjoyed the day and found it most informative. The paper chase also went down extremely well. This novel, playful element allowed the students to participate in an innovative and surprising Swisscom experience.
We would like to thank all the participants for their interest in Swisscom and hope that the event also made a good impression on them.
