How long does the Swisscom trainee programme last?
The programme lasts twelve months - from 1 October to 30 September.

Can I also just complete individual programme components?
No. If you sign the trainee contract, you are obligated to participate in the entire 12-month programme.

How long does the introductory phase of the trainee programme last?
One week, always at the beginning of October. During this period you cannot take any leave. You start with the first project after the introductory week.

How many projects are scheduled during the trainee programme?
You work on three projects. Each project lasts four months.

How are projects allocated?
The projects are acquired in advance from line management, so that the trainees have a choice of projects. This enables you to select and put together your project assignments from the projects on offer, in consultation with the programme management. It is important that the assignments are spread over a number of units.

How many trainees start each year on 1 October?
Ten. They are graduates from a wide range of disciplines.

Which languages do I have to be proficient in?
Since most project assignments are in Berne and Zurich, a very good command of spoken and written German is essential. The selection process is also conducted in German. Good proficiency in French and English are also a plus.

Can graduates from abroad also apply?
Yes. Very good spoken and written German and a university degree are required.

What are the submission deadlines for my application?
Recruitment is ongoing, but the last date for applications for the programme is 1 June of each year. We recommend that you send your application as early as possible.

When will I find out if I can take part in the programme?
As recruitment is ongoing, you will be informed a few days after the assessment. It is, however, possible that you will be placed on a waiting list and will find out at a later date whether you can take part in the programme. We make every effort to keep candidates informed of their status within the recruitment process.

What type of contract do the trainees receive?
The contract is limited to a period of twelve months. Berne is the place of work. Any other locations will depend on the trainee's area of activity.

How much leave am I entitled to as a trainee?
25 days a year.
