Swisscom is building the network of the future today so that you can surf the Internet at the speed of light and watch high-resolution television on multiple devices within the comfort of your own home. In the first phase, Swisscom laid optical fibres between the central exchanges and then ran them to residential areas. Swisscom has been running optical fibres to private households as part of FTTH (Fibre to the home) since autumn 2008.
