Competition works
According to the OECD, Switzerland has the third best broadband coverage in the world thanks to the intense competition between infrastructure providers (e.g. cable and telephone providers). This competition will continue to prove productive as an optical fibre network is expanded throughout Switzerland. With regard to the construction of the infrastructure, Swisscom depends upon cooperation with other providers. The benefits: Lower costs, quicker expansion and less need for regulation.
