CO2 emissions are the main culprit behind global warming. In its position as partner of the WWF Climate Group, Swisscom is helping reduce CO2 emissions. This group's members pursue ambitious goals to reduce emissions, actively share experiences and engage in joint projects.

Swisscom has set the following goals with WWF:

• develop services that help to reduce companies' and individuals' CO2 emissions (Green Services);
• promote the sale of energy-efficient equipment and ensure that its equipment suppliers commit to the EU Standby Initiative's codes of conduct;
• cut CO2 emissions while increasing energy efficiency;
• procure energy-efficient vehicles (hybrid, gas, etc.);
• promote the use of alternative energy sources by purchasing naturemade star green power and commissioning Swisscom apprentices to build solar installations (one new solar installation a year).
