E-mail on the iPhone works in exactly the same way as on your computer. The iPhone supports many common e-mail servers and providers such as Bluewin E-Mail, Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, Yahoo! Mail, Google Mail, etc.
Products concerned: iPhone , iPhone 3 GS , iPhone 4
Set up MMS, e-mail, Internet, Swisscom TV air, WLAN and Bluewin address book on your mobile phone.
You need the following details to configure your e-mail account successfully:
If you are unsure about anything, please contact your e-mail provider.
Note
When setting up your Bluewin e-mail account, you must enter the password for the e-mail account (and not the Swisscom Login password). If you are experiencing a problem with your password or cannot remember your e-mail password, log into the Swisscom customer centre where you can view and if necessary change your password. If you change it, you will also have to change the password for the e-mail client on your PC (Outlook, Windows Mail, Incredimail, etc.) or Mac (Entourage, Apple Mail).
Please note that, depending on the software version on your iPhone, some of the following steps may look slightly different. If you have any questions you should, therefore, refer to the Apple help pages on “Setting up e-mail”.

You can receive your e-mails manually or (if you activate your push account) have them retrieved automatically at regular intervals.
If new information, such as incoming e-mails, is available, it will be automatically forwarded to your iPhone if you have activated the push function.
During the push transmission, MobileMe and Exchange also synchronise your contacts, calendar and bookmarks (only MobileMe) if you have selected these items in the account settings.
Synchronised information is automatically transferred over your wireless connection. You don’t have to connect your iPhone to your computer to synchronise it.
If you want to activate/deactivate the push function, tap “Settings”, followed by “Data reconciliation”. To save your battery you can also adjust the intervals at which your e-mails are loaded manually (every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes, hourly or manually).
