Making mobile phone calls securely

If you heed the following tips when using your mobile phone, you will make it difficult for other people to access your personal details and to use services at your expense without your permission.

The PIN code (PIN for short) prevents other people from using your mobile phone or accessing your details without your permission. The PUK code is used to unlock a SIM card for which the wrong PIN code has been entered three times. Both codes can be found in the documents for your NATEL® subscription or Easy package. If you can't find your PIN/PUK code, call our free Customer Services hotline on 0800 800 800 or go to your nearest Swisscom Shop for advice.

Bluetooth is wireless technology which facilitates communication between various devices with Bluetooth capability (such as mobile phones, notebooks, handhelds, cameras or printers) and peripherals (such as a headset, mouse and keyboard). The range is approx. 10 meters.

Business numbers are phone numbers starting with 0900, 0901 or 0906 and which may be charged at premium rates. You can block access to these types of premium-rate services with a NATEL® subscription.

Swisscom only distributes games and applications that are virus-free and pose minimal security risks via www.swisscom.ch and via the Vodafone live! portal.

Viruses and worms can spy on, change and delete data (such as address book data) on a mobile device. They are able to embed themselves into devices and execute unwanted functions.
