Using Visual Voicemail
Visual Voicemail displays voicemail messages (COMBOX®) graphically on your iPhone. You can select any message in the list shown directly without having to listen to the previous messages.
Do I receive Visual Voicemail automatically whenever I activate my iPhone?
No, only customers with COMBOX® receive Visual Voicemail automatically. Customers with COMBOX® Pro can switch to COMBOX® by calling the hotline, which means that they also receive Visual Voicemail. However, they can then no longer use services which only work with COMBOX® Pro (Internet access to the COMBOX®, fax, different greeting texts, receiving and forwarding voice messages via e-mail).
Visual Voicemail setup
When you tap "Voicemail" for the first time, the iPhone prompts you to create a password for your Voicemail and to record a greeting.
How to change your greeting:
- Tap "Voicemail" > "Greeting". Then tap "Custom".
- Tap "Record" when you're ready to start recording your greeting.
- Tap "Stop" when you have finished your greeting. To listen to your greeting, tap "Play". Repeat steps 2 and 3 to record the message again.
- Tap "Save".
If you'd prefer to use Swisscom's default greeting, tap "Voicemail" > "Greeting" > "Default".
Tap "Voicemail" to call up a list of your Voicemail messages. Then tap the message. (If you have already played the message, tap it again to play it a second time). Use the

and

, buttons to stop and resume playback. All messages are automatically deleted after 30 days. The "deleted messages" recycle bin is emptied over night.
Getting contact information
Visual Voicemail saves the date and time of a call, the length of a message, as well as all the available contact information. To see these details, tap
beside a message. You can use the information to send an e-mail or text message to the caller or to update the contact information.
Charges
Data transmission is required to use Visual Voicemail. The data volume required is free of charge if a subscription with data volume included (Swisscom surf subscriptions) is used. Otherwise the data transmission concerned will be charged according to your price plan.
Visual Voicemail abroad
Visual Voicemail is used abroad with data transmission. Since the volume of data included in the data subscription cannot be transferred abroad, charges apply when you use Visual Voicemail and associated data. The price for data corresponds to Swisscom pricing regulations for data usage abroad.
Note
You can turn off the "Data Roaming" switch via "Settings" > "General" > "Network". Once data roaming is turned off, Visual Voicemail works via voice call. This will prevent you from incurring costs for data usage when using Visual Voicemail abroad. However, when you listen to messages, you will be charged the normal tariff for calls to Switzerland (depending on the subscription).
