Every homepage is located on the basis of a numeric IP address. However, as these number sequences are hard to remember, alphanumeric Internet addresses, known as domain names were introduced. The complicated number code is thus “translated” into a name and vice-versa.

Registration costs and how these are calculated depend on the type of Internet address you have. Here, the letters after the dot are a decisive factor.

Costs (annual)

For international Internet addresses ending in .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info you will be billed for the registration costs by the Bluewin HostCenter. The costs for addresses ending in .ch or .li are billed to you by the national registration company SWITCH.
