Solving problems with firewalls

Other programs that influence surfing, e.g. explicit popup blockers and webwashers, firewall configurations and proxy settings can also cause problems.
If you have a firewall installed and cannot start the HomepageTool we recommend the following procedure:
  • Try deactivating the firewall.
  • Reboot the computer (with the firewall deactivated!).
  • Open the HomepageTool again.
  • If the HomepageTool starts now, it proves that a certain firewall setting is responsible for the starting problems. Please adjust your firewall settings as necessary.
