Use the Green ICT Check for a climate and family-friendly future

Like many countries, Switzerland has committed itself to lower its greenhouse gas emissions in the Kyoto Protocol. By 2012 a reduction of 8% compared to 1990 must be achieved. While the brakes were put on in industry and private households, so that the emissions are slowly decreasing, traffic is the major concern as regards effective climate protection in Switzerland. Instead of dropping 10%, emissions from motorised private vehicles that impact the climate increased by 10.7% between 1990 and 2007.
