Special sustainability award for Logifleet’s clever and resource-saving solutionfrom Res Witschi

In September 2011, we awarded Logifleet AG a special sustainability award as part of the Swisscom Business Award. Logifleet impressed us and the expert jury with its “LogiFleet Report” solution which, to date, has allowed the company to save the annual consumption of around 3,800 cars.

Who achieved the greatest savings in 2011 for traffic, CO2 and electricity? A jury of experts from WWF and myclimate carefully evaluated all the projects submitted and, in September, awarded the special sustainability award to a company from Lausanne – Logifleet AG.

The specialists for fleet and mobility management impressed the jury with their “LogiFleet Report” solution. Companies can use the solution to optimise their fleet use and achieve concrete CO2 and cost savings – around 11,400 tonnes of CO2 and approximately 5 million litres of petrol has been saved per year so far. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of around 3,800 cars.

Green ICT from Logifleet – sophisticated, useful and efficient

In an interview with Swiss magazine Netzwoche, CEO Raphael Greppin explained how using green ICT actually works – “Logifleet uses geo boxes from various suppliers, so that all customer requirements can be covered. A geo box is a kind of black box that is built into all vehicles. Our geo boxes are all inspected, have proven their value since 1985 and are used in 430,000 vehicles – spread across 30 countries and four continents. Every employee on the move has a smartphone with a screen and keypad, which communicates with the head office.”

Swisscom Business Award:

The Swisscom Business Award is a distinction for successful ICT applications in the business sphere. The only prerequisite is that a solution from Swisscom or a Swisscom partner is used. The award is presented to Swiss companies that have achieved above-average performance as a result of using ICT solutions. The success of these solutions is measurable – savings, increased productivity, simplified procedures, etc., have produced competitive advantages.

The special sustainability award honours a project that has achieved the greatest savings with regard to traffic, CO2 and electricity.
