The Swiss bank Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) wanted to enhance its voice infrastructures by deploying IP telephony. They were faced with the question as to which communication technologies would provide the greatest possible benefit for the company in the long term. In order to gain a solid basis for making this decision, BLKB commissioned Swisscom consulting specialists to propose various possible solutions.
Swisscom devised a strategy for developing the voice infrastructures. It combines the existing infrastructure with the new options, thus guaranteeing maximum investment protection. The consultants also presented different sourcing variants, defined development scenarios complete with rough cost estimates and conducted relevant evaluations.
Thanks to the comparison of various development scenarios, BLKB were able to find the appropriate technology with the best price-performance ratio. The solution can be integrated into the existing infrastructure and adheres to the company's security guidelines.
