The oldest private Swiss insurance company has recognised the sign of the times – Mobiliar now provides guests at its headquarters and employees on the move with fast, wireless Internet access for their mobile devices. Swisscom ensures the best possible connection with PWLAN (Public Wireless LAN) hotspots.

As part of the NWP (new work place) project, Mobiliar was looking for a solution that was both user-friendly and easy to support. The solution needed to provide the companys guests at its Berne headquarters with a fast mobile connection and, at the same time, allow employees who were travelling to work more productively while on the move.

Swisscom found the perfect solution for both tasks. They installed a PWLAN hotspot in the public area of the headquarters building, allowing Mobiliars guests to connect to the Internet using a login of their choice. As Swisscom is responsible for operation and billing, no extra work is created for Mobiliar. More than 1,300 Swisscom hotspots are available throughout Switzerland for employees who are travelling. “Open garden” access allows them to connect their devices to the company network easily and with no need for a login or code.
