With the new DualNet option for the LAN-I service, Swisscom
ensures that the two
network infrastructures involved are completely physically separate, as both the access and the backbone
are separate, and thus designed redundantly. This gives you maximum redundancy from a single source
– something that is only provided in Switzerland by Swisscom. You benefit from a service provided using
two different platforms, which ensure availability even in the event of a complete disaster on the primary
network. In terms of access, the solution is even more flexible, as connection variants can be modified
to meet individual needs independently of the primary network. Moreover, DualNet also offers benefits
in terms of costs, as working with just one provider means that the second network costs less.
