There are 350 independent Raiffeisenbanks in Switzerland –
together, they are responsible for 3.3 million account holders. Raiffeisen Switzerland supports the
banks with a wide range of IT services, among other things. Because the banks had new requirements regarding
telephony, Raiffeisen Switzerland reassessed the site networking system.
Raiffeisen
wanted harmonised services from a single source for WAN, Internet, extranet and IP telephony. Swisscom
impressed the company with its powerful service: within just twelve months, 1,584 Raiffeisenbank branches
were connected to one another using the managed WAN service LAN-Interconnect and IP telephony was integrated.
Because Swisscom operates the entire solution,
Raiffeisen gains plenty of time for its core business. In addition, the company can use the ICT structure
without having to invest in it. The new platform optimally supports centralisation projects and allows
new functions to be provided quickly and extensively: perfect conditions for achieving increased efficiency
in the banking business.
