Women in Cyber Switzerland Networking-Event

We were delighted to host the first Women in Cyber Switzerland networking event here at Swisscom. It was wonderful to open our doors and spend an evening connecting with others in the community, enjoying good conversations and learning about interesting topics, as well as meeting new people.

As part of the event, Selma Steinhoff and I (Stephanie Ramseyer) presented 'Cybercriminals vs. Cyberdefence: How Cybercriminals Attack Systems and How Cyberanalysts Defend Against Them'. The presentation was a walkthrough of a real-life attack scenario from both perspectives. I played the part of a threat actor, explaining how an actual attacker would approach a target, starting with open-source intelligence and moving through access and escalation before following the cyber kill chain step by step. Selma then explained how her team would detect and defend against the attack, based on real-world processes and tools.

If you’re curious, here are some impressions of the event:

Events like this are just one part of what we do. The Swisscom Women in Cyber group runs mentoring programmes, supports career development and creates opportunities for people to grow, no matter what stage they’re at.

If you’re interested in working in cybersecurity at Swisscom or would simply like to get in touch, please do reach out. We’re always happy to chat!
