AWS Summit Switzerland 2019 – A day dedicated to the cloud
High number of participants
The rush of people was big – not only for the barista, who created small artworks out of coffee. Numerous visitors from Switzerland and the neighbouring countries came to the event to find out about the latest topics in the industry, and to network.
The AWS Summit Switzerland, held for the first time in this form, recorded a remarkable number of over 1500 participants.
This shows that the topic of the cloud is gaining in relevance and interest also in Switzerland.

Are you Well-Architected?
With “Let’s talk about cloud!” Swisscom welcomed visitors to its booth and provided interesting insights into its diverse portfolio of Amazon Web Services.
The breakout session focused on security. It showed the importance of the topic in the cloud area as well as the best practices and services that Swisscom’s cloud experts offer to support their customers.
The newly launched approach for Public Cloud Managed Services was presented to a wider audience for the first time. In addition to traditional operations, the new modular service framework focuses on the continuous optimisation of workloads.
An offer for AWS users was particularly well received: the Well-Architected Review.
As part of a Well-Architected Review, companies receive a detailed analysis of the state of their cloud infrastructure. An individual report with concrete recommendations shows where there is still room for improvement – for example with regard to cost optimisation or security.
