“Discipline is what drives me.”
Maths is my thing – and I was fascinated by programming even before my apprenticeship.

Maths is my thing – and I was fascinated by programming even before my apprenticeship.
I started the four-year application developer apprenticeship at 16 and quickly took on both professional and personal responsibility for myself and my career. The teams I was lucky enough to work in challenged me and encouraged me. They were my foundations.
Now, I work as an Operations Engineer in the B2B division whilst studying business information technology. Swisscom allows me the flexibility I need to do this – depending on where I am in the course, I only work 70 to 90 percent of my full-time hours. I monitor our business customers’ IT systems, analyse faults and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
I can be found in the gym most mornings, at 6 am. Cardio helps me to clear my head. I’m disciplined, I love to learn and I’m open to new things. How do I see my career evolving? It’s a step-by-step process: first a Bachelor’s degree, then a Masters – and maybe a management position at some point in the future.
