I’m there when it matters and trust my team to manage everything else themselves.
When I became a mother, I knew that I wanted both a fulfilling job and a family. But how do you reconcile a management role with a 60 percent workload? I simply gave it a try. Swisscom has placed its trust in me, and I have learned how to let go. Today, I accompany teams as a Release Train Engineer and Agile Coach. My approach is one of “servant leadership” instead of hierarchy. Personal responsibility instead of control. I create the framework in which my team can work independently.
My husband and I share family and career – that’s the only way my model can work. Work-life balance is not a rigid concept, but a process. I’ve tried lots of things and questioned myself time and again. Today, I know that achieving the right balance doesn’t come through perfection, but through the art of separating the important from the unimportant.
