An apprenticeship at Swisscom is as individual as you are. Our unique training model gives you plenty of freedom throughout your apprenticeship. You independently choose projects lasting several months that align with your chosen profession. From day one, you take on responsibility for exciting tasks and collaborate with colleagues from different areas.

Our apprenticeships are advertised every year from 1 August. Exception: Retail Specialist VET apprenticeships are published from 1 September. You can apply from that date onwards.

What does your apprenticeship with us look like?

At Swisscom, you actively shape your own apprenticeship journey. You decide which areas you would like to gain practical experience in and are part of the team from day one. Whether in direct customer contact, in technical roles or in a creative environment, you’ll work on real projects and take on responsibility.

Each assignment typically lasts between six and eighteen months. You choose the assignments that suit you and apply for them – just like in the real job market. This experience prepares you for your future career.

During your apprenticeship, you’ll explore different areas of work, develop your strengths and discover where your talents can be best applied.

Digital Business Developer, Federal VET Diploma

Your future job

You will work at the interface between people, business and technology. You will support the digital development, transformation and innovation of companies or business areas. You analyse issues in everyday digital business and optimise processes and production flows based on this. To do this, you use data to simplify processes and supplement business models. You will be involved in a wide range of projects and will be responsible for communication between specialists, decision-makers and customers. As a specialist, you will shape the digitalisation of tomorrow.

Your future job

Drawing on your multimedia, design, marketing, IT and administration know-how, you produce content for on- and offline media. You edit photos, sound recordings and videos with various programs, and will layout text. You will design and maintain websites as well as social media channels, create advertising material, presentations and print materials, and facilitate the use of new technologies at events.

Your future job

You ensure that the ICT infrastructure and its services operate smoothly and in line with customer requirements. You plan local area networks (LAN), select suitable network components, install and configure them and monitor ongoing network operation. You take a proactive, forward-looking approach in order to ensure network performance and security. You plan, manage and maintain physical and virtual server systems and services. You also monitor the systems and services to ensure their continued availability and security.

Your future job

You work closely with your customers to keep them informed of the changing requirements of their ICT solution or system context in a timely manner. You analyse user models, create designs and develop prototypes. You also design the implementation variant concept in intensive consultation with your customers. Finally, you implement the variant using appropriate programming languages and use a test concept to test its quality as well as its security. You ensure the smooth delivery of your solutions by defining a suitable process, testing it and finally handing over your solution to your customer.

Your future job

You will work in a number of different Swisscom Shops where you will learn how to provide customers with friendly, competent advice on our products and services. You will identify the best solutions, hold sales and customer meetings, and resolve complex issues. You will continue to learn about new products and services and enlighten our customers. Your interest in technology will come in useful for this.

You will also become acquainted with the administrative and organisational processes of the Shops and thus continually hone your skills..

You also have the opportunity to work on projects outside the shop environment for up to 12 months to familiarise yourself with new departments, teams and duties and acquire additional knowledge.

Course oft he apprenticeship

The basic commercial training (apprenticeship and sport | music) lasts four years instead of three. This extension means that on average around 25 percent of working time is available for sporting activities (training, competitions, training camps, etc.) or for musical activities (rehearsals, concerts, performances, etc.), but also for regeneration.

Your future job

Swisscom supports you in balancing your sporting/musical commitment and your apprenticeship. You will be responsible for demanding commercial areas and take on a wide range of administrative and organisational tasks, such as information processing, written and verbal communication, presentation preparation and bookkeeping.

In recent years, digitalisation has made possible many things that were still science fiction a few decades ago – and the possibilities are far from exhausted! One of the most important cornerstones of this is the telecommunications and electricity grid.
