Residential Customers segment

The Residential Customers segment is the contact partner for mobile and fixed-line retail customers. It provides Switzerland with broadband access lines, serves a growing number of Swisscom TV customers and operates, one of Switzerland's most-visited Internet portals. The Residential Customers segment offers all telephone, Internet and TV services, pay TV, transmissions of sporting events and video on demand from a single source, as well as selling end devices. Cinetrade additionally operates one of the leading cinema chains in Switzerland.


Telephony, Internet, Digital TV

Swisscom NATEL® infinity offers mobile flat rates for unlimited surfing, texting and calls in all networks. Swisscom TV is Switzerland's most successful cloud-based digital TV solution. And with symmetric bandwidths of up to 1 Gbit/s Swisscom's fibre customers enjoy ultra-fast Internet. One in three Swiss households already benefits from Vivo packages. In addition there are countless other services and applications, such as the communications app iO or the SmartLife home automation system.

Unique coverage, excellent voice quality and top Internet speeds: thanks to technical innovations, our mobile broadband network offers a better service to more customers. Independent tests have been saying it for years. The same applies abroad, where we always cooperate with the leading mobile network operators.


Service excellence

Our customers are served by 3,500 advisors. They deal with twelve million calls over our free hotline, reply to four million e-mails and letters and serve six million customers in our shops. Customers manage their own personal data, subscriptions and bills in the digital customer centre. In the past years we have transformed more than 120 Shops across the country into worlds of experience where customers call try out our products.


Switzerland's No. 1

Switzerland's telecommunication market nets an estimated CHF 13 billion annually in total revenue. We are the market leader in mobile telephony and broadband for residential customers in Switzerland. In mobile telephony, our market share is 59%, ahead of Sunrise at 22% and Salt at 19%. In broadband our market share is 54%, with cable network providers taking 34%. With a market share of 29% in digital TV, we share first place with UPC Cablecom (29%), while other cable providers provide 27% and satellite or antenna-based reception accounts for 12%.

The 2015 financial reporting is broken down into the segments Swisscom Switzerland, Fastweb and Other Operating Segments. Swisscom Switzerland covers the segments Residential Customers, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Enterprise Customers, Wholesale and IT, Network & Innovation. Other Operating Segments mainly comprises Participations and Health. Group Headquarters, which primarily includes the Group divisions as well as the employment company Worklink, continues to be reported separately.
