Passion is my fuel and my time is precious --> Get it done!
"Back to my roots" would describe my background well. I completed my M. Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the TU Munich before starting my career as a Junior Mobile Network Researcher at Siemens Mobile. Then I decided to get hands-on experience in the area of mobile network engineering and operations when I joined Telefonica o2 Germany. After about 3.5 years, I felt I needed to broaden my horizons beyond the telco industry. That led me to pursue my MBA Degree at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). This experience helped me discover my passion for solving strategic and multi-faceted problems systematically. That led to my next career move into management consulting when I joined A.T. Kearney as an Associate Consultant for Communications, Media and Technology Practice. After about 3 years on various project assignments around the globe, including non-telco clients, I was invited to join Swisscom Group Strategy – IT, Network and Innovation.
I’m at Swisscom because my colleagues here practise a flat, team-driven culture. Swisscom is a prestigious and well-respected brand in Switzerland. It has a reputation for offering services that run like Swiss clockwork. Swisscom is a caring employer that believes the key to superior company performance is in its employees’ well-being. I also subscribe to this belief.
My role as Strategy Manager provides me with considerable opportunities to interact with the senior division and group management team. My responsibility is to raise issues and bring them to a point where informed decisions can be made by the person(s) responsible. And all the way through I have to remain neutral and drive forward decisions in the best interests of Swisscom as a whole. This is the impact of my efforts.
