Blue Window becomes a limited company

From 1 May 2000, Blue Window, Swisscom"s Internet Service provider, will have a new name - Blue Window AG. This will mark a further milestone in Blue Window"s strategy as the leading Swiss Internet Service Provider.

By making Blue Window independent, Swisscom is signalling something important - the Internet Service Provider has grown up, and it is still growing. As an independent company it will be quicker and easier for Blue Window AG to enter into partnerships. The company will also be able to position itself more clearly in the market. There will be a new market launch in the next few months under the name of "Bluewin".

As already announced, Swisscom and the media company TA-Media are building a strategic alliance through a cross participation. TA-Media will hold an 8% share in Blue Window AG, with Swisscom retaining the majority holding. In turn, Blue Window AG will hold 15% of Winner Market AG, TA-Media´s online features service. Blue Window AG will also have interests in Winner Market AG´s two subsidiaries - 30% in Partner Winner AG and 35% in Auction Winner AG.

Management team

The Blue Window AG Management team will consist of Christoph Brand, CEO Blue Window, Marcel Oertig, Human Resources, Christian Hütwohl, Finance, Urs Schmidig, Business Operations, and Marc Werner, Marketing Services & Sales. Blue Window AG´s Board will include Jens Alder (President), Swisscom AG, Dominik Koechlin, Swisscom AG, Dave J. Schnell, Swisscom AG, and Kurt W. Zimmermann, TA-Media AG. Blue Window AG´s headquarters will be in Zurich.
