Short numbers: new numbers for calls from abroad

The planned renumbering on the Swiss telephone network at the end of March 2002 will result in changes to short numbers from 1 January 2002.

The new number for calling the Swiss Helicopter Rescue Service (Rega) from abroad will be +41 333 333 333 (9´3). Within Switzerland Rega will continue to be available at all times on 1414. The new number for Air Glaciers from abroad will be +41 27 329 1415 (1415 within Switzerland).

The number from abroad for weather forecast (short number 162), road conditions (163), sports news/Lotto/Toto (164) and avalanche (187) information services will be +41 848 800 xxx, i.e. +41 848 800 162 for weather forecast, +41 848 800 163 for road conditions, etc.

The new number from abroad for Regional Info, which is available within Switzerland on short number 1600, will be +41 848 80 1600.

As mentioned above, these new numbers are for calls from abroad only. For calls within Switzerland the present short numbers will continue to apply.
