Swisscom pavilion in Bienne: "Empire of Silence" proves a crowd-puller
24 May 2002
Just one week after Expo.02 opened its doors, Swisscom's expectations have already been exceeded. The "Empire of Silence" adventure has recorded an average of 5,400 visitors a day, and on Whit Monday this number rose to 6,100. So the "Empire of Silence" already ranks among the top public attractions.
Over the past few days IHA-GfK, an independent market research institute, has conducted 245 interviews with visitors. The results point to the outstanding success of the "Empire of Silence", with 44 percent of respondents rating the Swisscom pavilion "very attractive" and 37 percent rating it as "attractive". Only 13 percent found the experience "not so good" and 4 percent "not at all good".
Besides its impressive stage sets and dramatic concept, the pavilion, which highlights the value of open and courageous communication, stands out due to its extensive capacity and short queuing times. As a result, 115 performances a day have been held to date for groups ranging between 20 and 66 persons.
