And on 25 December calls will be free of charge. In addition, Swisscom Mobile customers will be able to send MMS messages free of charge in the months of December and January.
On 25 December 2002, all calls on the fixed network within Switzerland will be free of charge. And on the four Advent Sundays, calls will be charged at half the normal rate. Excluded from this promotion are calls from the fixed network to mobile networks, international calls, calls to Business Numbers (e.g. 08xx/09xx numbers), short numbers and calls with phone cards. It should also be noted that the charge display on telephones will display the normal price and the promotional price will only be shown on the bill. Those wishing to take part in this promotion should register on freephone 0800 000 481.
Customers will also receive a 15% discount voucher which will be enclosed with their Fixnet telephone bill dispatched during November. This may be redeemed in any of the 77 Swisscom Shops on any Tuesday in December. With one or two exceptions this voucher will apply to the entire range of products. In addition there will also be attractive gift offers at low prices at the eShop ( www.swisscom.com/eshop ) on every Tuesday in December.
Free MMS messages with additional functions at Swisscom Mobile
In December 2002 and January 2003, Swisscom Mobile customers will each be able to send 50 free MMS messages worth at least CHF 80 from the Swisscom Mobile network. This will enable the new Multimedia Messaging Service to be rigorously tested over the Christmas period. This offer applies irrespective of the size of the MMS message to all existing NATEL® subscribers and new customers except for NATEL® easy. Already over 15,000 Swisscom Mobile customers regularly send MMS messages and new MMS-enabled mobile phones are constantly appearing on the market.
In addition, the offering is becoming more and more attractive: the MMS viewer enables users of mobile phones without MMS function to receive the new messages with sound and pictures. By December the MMS box will allow even more functions to be added: It will then be possible to store and forward MMS messages on the Internet. The MMS composer will enable new MMS messages to be created and their content greatly enriched. And via "My album" it will be possible for users to upload onto the Internet and manage their own images and/or sound files, turning Internet and mobile phone into a multimedia message exchange. http://www.swisscom-mobile.ch/
