New : Create and manage MMS messages on the Internet

17 December 2002

Since its launch in June 2002, Swisscom Mobile has been continually expanding its MMS offering. From today NATEL® subscribers can create, manage and save multimedia messages (MMS) via MMS Composer, My Album and MMS Gallery on the Internet.

This means that the main MMS functions can be used via the Internet - which particularly benefits those who do not yet have an MMS-enabled mobile phone. Registered users of Swisscom Mobile's mobile portal "gomobile" can use the MMS Composer to create new MMS messages, enhance them with various types of content (pictures, sounds) and send them directly via the Internet. In December 2002 and January 2003 this will be free of charge, from February the service will be subject to charge (standard charges for MMS) and will be available exclusively to Swisscom Mobile customers.

My Album can be used to store personal images and sound files. This includes free memory space, up to one Megabyte for received MMS messages or downloaded photos and sounds. MMS Gallery can be used not only to send Christmas and birthday greetings but also comics and similar types of prepared content in the form of an MMS message. The MMS Viewer enables users without an MMS-enabled phone to view received messages on their computer. A password is sent via SMS for calling up, saving and forwarding MMS messages on the Internet site.

The new services can be called up at . To enable them to test out MMS extensively, all NATEL® subscribers and new customers will benefit from a Christmas and New Year offer: In December 2002 and January 2003 each customer can send 50 MMS messages with a total value of CHF 80 free of charge.
