SMS messaging on the fixed network - free in June 2003
28 May 2003
Users equipped with a compatible ISDN telephone and a Swisscom Fixnet ISDN access (Multiline ISDN) can send and receive SMS messages to and from the home or office to other fixed-line telephones or mobile phones worldwide. The receipt of SMS messages, however, is restricted to Swisscom's fixed and mobile networks. Text is entered using the dialling keys and the cost is around CHF 0.20 per message. During the month of June 2003 Swisscom Fixnet will offer its "SMS messaging on the fixed network" service free of charge.
Users with an ETV-enabled ISDN telephone can call up the last name, first name and address of callers whose numbers they don't recognise, using the "blue" key. An ETV online enquiry costs CHF 0.20. Attractively priced ISDN telephones that support this service are available at all Swisscom Shops, specialist retailers or at www.swisscom.com/eshop .
For further information on the above services, visit any Swisscom Shop, the Swisscom Fixnet website at www.swisscom-fixnet.ch or call freephone 0800 800 800.
