Swisscom Fixnet Wholesale has experienced a huge run on ADSL orders over the last few months. The success led in some cases to a shortage of available ADSL ports, resulting in excessive delays in activation.
Swisscom did everything in its power to eliminate the bottlenecks and invested successfully in expanding the ports. Together with the supplier Alcatel, Swisscom found an efficient solution aimed at speeding up expansion of the ports. Swisscom continues to make every effort to minimise waiting times. Today 95% of registrations can be activated within two weeks. Only in exceptional cases are customers required to wait longer.
