Swisscom to be present at ITU Telecom World 2003

03 July 2003

As Switzerland's number one operator, Swisscom will of course be present at ITU Telecom World 2003 with a stand of three times 500m2 (ground + two storeys). The event primarily represents an opportunity to present to the public the company's "Internet for Schools" initiative, thanks to which more than 2,000 schools now enjoy free access to the network of networks.

The other Group companies will not be outdone, however, as the telecoms jamboree will enable Swisscom Mobile to present not only the innovative services developed in partnership with UK operator Vodafone but also, in collaboration with Swisscom Fixnet, a raft of new broadband services including ADSL, UMTS and wireless LAN.

Swisscom will also take advantage of this international event to present its new subsidiary Eurospot, Europe's leading supplier of wireless broadband Internet connections.

Finally, Swisscom will also be the official supplier of telecommunications infrastructure at ITU Telecom World 2003, and will be providing networking, mobile communications and wireless services as well as Internet connections for both exhibitors and visitors.
