Route planner over the telephone - Swisscom Fixnet launches navigation service over the telephone

From now on, customers will be able to call 111 between 07.00 and 22.00 hours to obtain directions to their destination on foot or by car. In addition to the fixed charge of CHF 3.00, users are charged CHF 0.80 per minute (plus subscription-specific mobile tariff from the second minute). For example, at 19.00 hours on a weekday, a three-minute call to obtain directions from A to B will cost between CHF 5.90 and CHF 6.80 (depending on the type of mobile subscription). The Swisscom Fixnet navigation service is based on the Maponair ASP Service route planning engine. Besides obtaining directions directly from the 111 operator, customers can also have the route sent to them via SMS for a charge of CHF 0.80.
