Also on the lookout for young talent?

This coming winter season Swisscom will expand its successful cooperation with Swiss Ski and will continue to sponsor the country's national Alpine and Nordic ski teams. Wearing ski outfits in the familiar Swisscom blue and displaying phone numbers, the skiers will be instantly recognisable on the slopes and trails. The idea for the new outfits came from a limited series of carving skis. Swisscom will launch the new outfits this coming winter in conjunction with the Swiss ski manufacturer Stöckli.

This year too Swisscom will continue its long-standing tradition of supplying the infrastructure (for the press centre, for example) at all of the World Cup events held in Switzerland. The venues this coming season are Laax, Wengen and Adelboden. All ski enthusiasts attending these events will be able to take advantage of Swisscom's SMS and MMS results service.

Start numbers for regional events

There are many ski clubs in Switzerland engaged in promoting skiing as a recreational sport as well as promoting young talented skiers. With its free "start number" service, which is open to every ski club in Switzerland, Swisscom also actively supports organisers of regional competitions and fun races. In this way Swisscom promotes not only star performers but also recreational skiers and talented youngsters. The start numbers can be ordered by the clubs as from December.

Action for the stars of tomorrow

To ensure that the Nef's and Kernen's of tomorrow can develop under optimal conditions, Swisscom is launching a campaign geared to the future. For each World Cup point scored by a skier in an Alpine discipline, CHF 100 will be donated to Swiss Ski's fund for the promotion of young talent.

Swisscom's sponsorship activities

Swisscom's sponsorship activities serve to underline the company's foundations in Switzerland and its commitment to promoting personal achievement and well-being. It is against this background that Swisscom is focussing its sponsorship efforts on Swiss Ski and the Swiss Football Association. The company also remains committed to tennis.
Besides sport, Swisscom sponsors cultural events as well as events aimed at promoting Switzerland as a sound business location. Swisscom's current advertising campaign depicts tennis players and business people clad in outfits worn by the Swiss national ski team and skiers kitted out in football strips.
