Swisscom wins Credit Suisse mandate for standard office telephone services

16 March 2004

From 1 July 2004, Credit Suisse will be transfering all standard office telephone services in Switzerland to Swisscom on a long-term basis. The mandate covers the existing private branch exchanges with over 50,000 activated phone lines. Swisscom will be taking on 14 Credit Suisse employees.

Since telephony does not fall within the core business of Credit Suisse, the financial services provider has decided to outsource its standard office telephone services in Switzerland. Credit Suisse has chosen Swisscom (Swisscom Enterprise Solutions Ltd and Swisscom Systems Ltd) as its contractual business partner for the operation of telephone services. Swisscom will be taking over the existing Credit Suisse telephone infrastructure.

In order to ensure continuity and prevent any disruption to normal operation, all 14 employees who until now have been responsible for standard office telephone services at Credit Suisse are to be taken on by Swisscom.

This outsourcing mandate represents an important step in Swisscom's strategy to position itself as a solutions provider for business customers with sophisticated and complex requirements.
