New from Vodafone live!: downloading of video clips and two-year guarantee on all mobile handsets

27 May 2004

Today, Swisscom Mobile launched a wide range of video clips for mobile phones. Users simply download the clips from the Vodafone live! portal or the Swisscom Mobile portal to their mobile handsets, where they can use them without restriction. Effective immediately, Swisscom Mobile is also offering an exclusive two-year guarantee on all Vodafone live! handsets. The extended guarantee also applies retroactively to all of the 200,000 plus Vodafone live! handsets sold to date.

From today, over 80 video clips are available from Vodafone live!. They can be found on Vodafone live! under the new "Video & Audio" rubric. Users simply download them to their handsets in the same way as games and ringtones. The videos run for between 10 and 20 seconds and can be used without restriction. Swisscom Mobile offers video clips in a wide range of categories, including Comedy, Sport&Fun and Action. The range is being added to all the time. The videos cost between CHF 2 and CHF 4. Initially, the clips can only be used on the two Vodafone live! handsets, the Sharp GX20 and the Sharp GX30. However, they can also be called up on the Swisscom Mobile portal and downloaded to the Nokia 3650 and 6600 or the Sony Ericsson P800 and P900.

Effective immediately, Swisscom Mobile is offering an exclusive two-year guarantee on all Vodafone live! handsets. The extended guarantee also applies retroactively to all Vodafone live! handsets sold to date, even if the handset only carries a one-year guarantee. This means that customers who already own a Vodafone live! handset will also benefit from the two-year guarantee.

Vodafone live! is a veritable success story: More than 200,000 NATEL® customers have already registered for the multimedia mobile experience. Over 80% of Vodafone live! customers benefit from the product's continuously expanding range of services. In addition, under the rubric "New" on Vodafone live!, users can call up current specials such as the latest Formula One pictures and up-to-the-minute news on the Formula One races, cars and teams.
