By developing new services (including Bluewin TV, scheduled for launch in 2005), Bluewin has taken charge of key tasks on behalf of Swisscom. The Bluewin brand will be repositioned over the long term as part of Swisscom Fixnet's Triple Play strategy. Triple Play stands for telephony, Internet and television over a single access line.
In future, Bluewin will be managed as a profit centre within Swisscom Fixnet AG. The existing Bluewin organisation will be retained. The management of Bluewin will also remain in place as a profit centre management team. As CEO of Bluewin, Urs Schmidig will continue to sit on the Executive Board of Swisscom Fixnet AG.
