Creativity and artistic flair are called for: get out your mobile phone and start shooting pictures! If your MMS on the topic "Swiss mobil - a country on the move" is chosen as one of the top 100 entries, your picture and name may be featured on a Swiss postage stamp. Swiss Post will issue special stamps with the winning MMS motifs on 6 September 2005.
Photos may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org from 1 February until 21 March 2005. The MMS entries will be placed on www.mms-stamp.ch with a picture number. The public will be able to vote until 28 March 2005 for the 100 top entries simply by sending a text message with the keyword "MMSD" and the selected picture number to 44544. A maximum of 100 votes per mobile phone can be submitted. A specialist jury will then select the four winning motifs, which will adorn Swiss postage stamps, from the 100 top MMS pictures.
But MMS artists are not the only winners. Swiss Post, Swisscom Mobile and the Museum for Communication are holding a draw for all kinds of prizes for those who take part in the text message voting.
Swiss Post will issue the four special MMS stamps on 6 September 2005 - a world première. In the past, Swiss Post has always presented creative and innovative stamps such as the world's first embroidered stamp, the stamp that smells of chocolate or the wood stamp.
In developing the four MMS stamps, Swiss Post is working together with Swisscom Mobile and the Museum for Communication. Swiss Post is responsible for issuing the special MMS stamps. Swisscom Mobile is supporting the mobile phone side of the campaign. And, the Museum for Communication in Berne - a Swiss Post and Swisscom foundation - is staging a special exhibition on the subject "A country in search of an image - Swiss stamp competitions in 1901 and 1932", which will run until 25 September 2005 (information at www.mfk.ch).
In addition to all the MMS pictures, the detailed competition conditions and the prizes can be seen on www.mms-stamp.ch.
