Press release

Price reduction at Swisscom Fixnet

13 May 2005

On 1 July 2005 Swisscom Fixnet will be reducing its rates for calls from the fixed network to the Swisscom Mobile network from CHF 0.55 to CHF 0.41 and from CHF 0.45 to CHF 0.31 respectively. Swisscom Fixnet will thus become the first provider to pass on Swisscom Mobile's reduced termination charges to its customers.

The termination charge is the fee that other telecommunications providers like Swisscom Fixnet have to pay for calls that terminate at a mobile network. On 3 May 2005 Swisscom Mobile announced that it would be reducing its termination charges.

Swisscom Fixnet has decided to pass on this reduction to its customers. From the beginning of July, calls from the Swisscom Fixnet fixed network to the Swisscom Mobile mobile network will cost CHF 0.41 per minute standard rate (previously CHF 0.55) and CHF 0.31 per minute off-peak rate (previously CHF 0.45). The standard rate applies Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the off-peak rate Monday to Friday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., as well as at weekends and general public holidays.

The charges for calls to the mobile networks of sunrise and Orange remain the same. As soon as these providers decide to reduce their termination charges, Swisscom Fixnet will pass on the reduction to its customers in the same way.

All other Swisscom Fixnet charges remain the same.
