Swisscom Solutions AG is buying 100% of the shares of Celeris AG, which is headquartered in Hinwil. Celeris is a leading provider of secure Internet communication solutions (Managed Security Services). The company, which has 17 employees and in 2004 posted revenue of some CHF 5 million, will continue to operate as an independent entity. Swisscom Solutions has already implemented Managed Security Services from Celeris in customer projects over the last two years. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.
While it is impossible to imagine today's business environment without communication via the Internet, security aspects play a particularly important role here. Celeris has been focussing exclusively on this area for almost five years. The company has developed appropriate Managed Security Services and today manages the IT security infrastructure of a large number of customers across the world. These services are complemented by Swisscom Solutions' high-quality ICT Security Portfolio. "Together we can optimally serve our customers' national and international security needs," says René Fischer, CEO of Swisscom Solutions. The customer base includes national and international enterprises for whom ICT security plays a crucial role: major industrial enterprises, banks, insurance companies, commercial enterprises and international hotel chains.
"The merger will open up new opportunities for us. It will bring us very close to our goal of being the first port of call for customers when it comes to the operation of secure Internet-based communications solutions," says Urs Brawand, Managing Director of Celeris AG.
