cablex enters traffic control market

cablex is now entering the market for traffic control systems. In partnership with the German company Dambach, Switzerland's largest network construction and maintenance company for telecommunications line networks is now entering the market for signaling and traffic control systems for private and public transport. In future cablex will act as Dambach's exclusive representative in Switzerland with responsibility for project management, customer care, installation, service and maintenance.

Founded 80 years ago and headquartered in Gaggenau near Karlsruhe, the Dambach Group is a European leader in transport technology. Over the years it has produced a range of innovations from the first reflecting traffic sign to programmable dynamic message systems. Dambach products have been established on the Swiss market for decades, and make a key contribution to the traffic control effort on Swiss roads.

cablex is the Swiss leader in the construction and maintenance of line networks for telecommunications, and is active throughout Switzerland. A subsidiary of Swisscom Fixnet, it acts as supplier and general contractor and has a workforce of around 400. The annual order volume comprises some 50,000 construction contracts and 20,000 fault repair orders. cablex reported revenue of CHF 116 million for 2005.
