Swisscom Fixnet is offering its customers another new benefit: Effective immediately, SMS Box and Bluewin Webmail can be accessed via a single user interface. Combining the two popular service offerings of Bluewin will make them both easier to use.
The SMS Box, which can be used free of charge by all Bluewin customers with a Gold or Classic service package, is very popular. This convenient service allows users to send up to 50 free SMS messages a month via the Internet to individuals or groups as well as preset a different sending time if required. Other features include a personal address book and a practical forwarding function.
The SMS Box is now integrated into the Webmail interface and offers additional options. This change will allow Bluewin customers to send their SMS messages directly from the Bluewin Webmail portal. A key advantage of this integration: SMS messages can be typed on a PC and responses received directly on the mobile phone. This means that users can enjoy the convenience of a PC keyboard when sending an SMS and the mobility of a mobile phone when receiving the response. A unique sender number lets the response be directed to a mobile phone, the SMS Box or a fixed-line phone. Messages can be sent straight from the address book and any phone numbers stored, whether mobile or fixed-line numbers, can be taken over from the address book.
