Swisscom to sponsor UEFA EURO 2008

Swisscom is pleased that its products and services know-how will play a decisive role in the success of UEFA EURO 2008™. The focus will be on networking communications between the four UEFA EURO 2008™ venues in Switzerland, state-of-the-art press centres, workstations for journalists and mobile entertainment. Swisscom will also be able to prove its technological skills in convergence products and new media.

Swisscom's long-term commitment to football

Football is all about dynamism and team spirit, core values which are also shared by Swisscom. That's why Switzerland's market leader committed itself to football on a long-term basis in the run-up to UEFA EURO 2008™. Swisscom is also using the latest telecommunications technology in football through its technology partnership with the Stade de Suisse. This partnership involves the provision of all the multifunctional services for the stadium's information and communications technology (ICT). Swisscom has also committed itself to promoting both high-performance and popular sport as well as up-and-coming sporting talent. Swisscom is pursuing this objective as the official sponsor of the Swiss Football Federation (SFV) and the country's national squads. Swisscom Fixnet is also the title sponsor of the Swiss football cup, known as the Swisscom Cup for the past four seasons.
