On 1 March 2007 Swisscom will begin transmitting a total of six new radio stations via Bluewin TV as part of its basic offering. The new stations will be phased in gradually and will include such favourites as Swiss Jazz, Swiss Classic and Swiss Pop, thereby complementing an already rich bouquet of stations offered by Bluewin TV.
In addition to providing a brand new television experience, Bluewin TV broadcasts high-quality radio stations via the phone line. Bluewin TV was launched at the start of November 2006 by Swisscom and now offers over 120 TV channels and more than 70 radio stations. To receive the service, customers need a phone line and broadband Internet access from Swisscom. Radio via Bluewin TV does not require a cable connection and is offered in conjunction with Terratec IP-Radio (also provided by Swisscom), which enables the same stations to be received in the same quality anywhere in the home.
In response to the many requests it has received, Swisscom will begin transmitting the popular SRG stations Swiss Jazz, Swiss Classic and Swiss Pop from 1 March 2007. Swisscom will also be adding one more radio station from German-speaking Switzerland and two from French-speaking Switzerland to broaden the wide range of stations already available from Bluewin TV.
From 1 March 2007 the Bluewin TV radio offering will be gradually expanded to include the following stations:
