Swisscom IT Services has been appointed as outsourcing partner to facility services provider ISS Switzerland for IT infrastructure services. The agreement will run for several years and is worth tens of millions. The IT specialist will take on responsibility for data centre operations, LAN, WAN, telephony, printer and desktop management, integration of the existing infrastructure and implementation of the entire migration project.
Swisscom IT Services is to become a new outsourcing partner of ISS Switzerland, gradually taking on full responsibility for operating the company's IT infrastructure by the end of 2007. In addition to managing around 900 local clients, 280 IP phones and 350 printers at some 130 locations in Switzerland, the agreement also covers server operations at Swisscom's own data centre. Swisscom IT Services will also be implementing the entire migration project, specifically the integration of the existing infrastructures at ISS Switzerland and ISS FM Services (formerly Edelweiss Facility Management). The partners for the project include Swisscom Solutions (LAN, WAN, telephony) and Fujitsu Siemens Computers (printing).
Swisscom IT Services became an outsourcing partner of Edelweiss Facility Management in 2005 before the latter was taken over by ISS Switzerland last June. The agreement with ISS Switzerland is proof of a long-term customer's satisfaction and also a recognition of the customer proximity and quality of service that only a local service provider can offer.
ISS Switzerland is set to benefit from Swisscom IT Services' high degree of standardisation and local support, allowing the company to focus its energies on its own core business. "Because our infrastructure and services are modular and scalable, we can operate our IT environment efficiently at a clearly definable cost. Swisscom IT Services is creating the framework for ISS to implement the IT aspects of its growth strategy with ease and flexibility," says Robert Fuchs, CFO of ISS Switzerland.
