Swisscom IT Services extends outsourcing contract with the Securitas Group

Swisscom IT Services is extending its existing outsourcing contract with Securitas Group Switzerland to include operation of the Group's SAP systems. The three-year contract for the additional service package runs into seven figures.

Securitas Group Switzerland, a leading provider of security services and alarm and security systems, is outsourcing the operation of its SAP systems to Swisscom IT Services. The service package comprises Service Desk, SAP Basis Services, Midrange Hosting Services and Enterprise Storage Services. At its computing centre, Swisscom IT Services operates the SAP platform on Linux blade servers with a modern 64-bit architecture.

Swisscom IT Services has been the main contractor responsible for operation and support of the Securitas Group's SAP systems since the beginning of June 2007. The hardware, software and requisite infrastructure were transferred from the previous provider to the Swisscom IT Services computing centre in Berne at the end of May 2007. The contract will run for three years and is worth a seven-figure sum.


Securitas Group Switzerland continues to rely on Swisscom IT Services expertise

Swisscom IT Services has been operating the Securitas Group's IT infrastructure (electronic workstations) as part of an outsourcing contract since 2003. The contract was renewed for the second time in August 2005. With the addition of the operation of the Group's SAP systems, the cooperation is now being significantly expanded.

Securitas Group Switzerland comprises the business units "Security Services" and "Alarm and Security Systems", and this year is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The Securitas Group employs more than 8,800 people in Switzerland and abroad.
