Safe surfing thanks to Bluewin Security from Swisscom

Berne, 02 October 2007

Swisscom improves security on the Internet: Bluewin Security replaces the previous "Gold" service package, offers considerably more protection and so meets the growing needs of customers for security. In addition to a firewall, the new Bluewin Security includes virus protection and spyware as well as a parental control feature. Bluewin Security is available at CHF 6.90 a month.

Customers with Bluewin Internet access will surf the net even more securely in future. With the Bluewin Security service package they have better protection from computer viruses and other attacks from the Internet.

In contrast to users of conventional antivirus programs, customers with Bluewin Security have a security software package that has been tested and recommended by Swisscom Fixnet. The service is available at CHF 6.90 a month. It includes a licence for installation on up to three PCs. Customer support is available at the standard Swisscom tariff.

Security thanks to AntiVirus & AntiSpy, firewall and parental control feature

"Antivirus & AntiSpy" protects the computer from viruses, worms, spyware and trojans. As the program is subject to constant, fully-automated updating, even the very latest malware has no chance. Bluewin Security even detects and removes viruses that have been concealed by rootkits and are not seen by most antivirus programs.

The firewall monitors and filters network traffic between the computer and the Internet. This keeps the user's computer hidden from others and therefore protects it from hackers and other dangers.

The parental control feature blocks access to websites with content unsuitable for minors. It allows users to set up age-dependent profiles which determine what content can be retrieved by whom at what time of day.
