Press release

High-speed Internet access and unlimited calls

Berne, 01 February 2008

Beginning 1 March 2008, Swisscom customers can surf the Internet at the fastest speed available and make unlimited calls on the Swiss fixed network for a flat rate of CHF 69 a month. The new subscription is called Infinity and includes a Bluewin DSL connection and all calls made on the Swiss fixed network any time, day or night. Costs for the phone line still apply.

Infinity is ideal for Swisscom customers who want just one single subscription for fast surfing and carefree fixed-line calling: included in the price of CHF 69 a month are an Internet connection with the maximum available speed (Bluewin DSL, 3500, 5000 or 20,000) and all domestic fixed-line calls. Costs for the phone line (CHF 25.25 for analogue or CHF 43 for ISDN) still apply. Infinity is particularly attractive for customers who want to surf at faster speeds. Swisscom has made high bandwidths of up to 20,000 kbps possible, in part through investments in fibre-optic networks (VDSL).

Customers who choose Infinity and already surf with Bluewin DSL 3500 will also automatically benefit from the increased speed of 5,000/500 kbps if available. If an upgrade to 20,000/1,000 kbps is technically possible and desired, this would require the installation of a digital DSL socket by a technician (one-off cost of CHF 95) and a new modem. At customers can check the availability of the various DSL subscriptions for their phone line.

Effective immediately, Infinity can be ordered online at, via the Swisscom hotline on 0800 86 86 86 or from the nearest Swisscom Shop. Any other discount subscriptions for the Swiss fixed network such as the chat subscription or Half-Price National, Combi or Mini-Combi subscriptions will be cancelled automatically. Infinity will begin on 1 March 2008.
