As part of its outsourcing strategy, Mobiliar selected Swisscom IT Services as its IT partner. The main reason for this decision was that the IT service provider can provide all of the services required for the planned projects from a single source. The contract will run for an indefinite period, at least until the end of 2011. The total order volume is worth an eight- figure sum.
The contract covers the migration, installation and follow-up work for approximately 2,700 notebooks and 2,300 PCs, as well as the environmentally-friendly disposal of the machines being replaced. Within the context of an engineering support service, Swisscom IT Services employees will also draw on their technical know-how and experience to support Mobiliar with the renewal and redesign of the client-server environment.
In addition to the contracts already signed, Mobiliar and Swisscom IT Services are negotiating further individual agreements in the areas of software packaging, on-site support (client, server, printer) and smartphone (engineering and consultancy) lasting between one and three years.
